So it's not exactly what I want. But it's what I've got at the moment. It's still rough in places. I can't quite wrap it up in the end. For now though, I've done all I can. It's old school. "Why don't you want to talk about it," Ashley asks, never looking up from her magazine.
"I told you," Spencer replies, obviously frustrated, "some things are personal. I don't think it's something we should be sharing with the entire world."
Ashley shifts, laying her magazine down on the bed. Rolling over, she looks up at Spencer.
"So don't tell the world. Just tell me." Her brown eyes darken and, after a moment, Spencer drops her gaze to the comforter.
"Why does it matter?"
Ashley sighs. Sitting up, she finds Spencer's eyes again.
"First times matter. They change us. Even if we think they don't. Even if they suck. Even if we don't want to remember them and rush headlong to the second time and the third time and..."
Spencer tilts her head, stares into dark brown eyes.
"But why does my first time matter to you," she whispers, never looking away.
A small smile curls Ashley's lips as she reaches out to tuck a stray blonde strand behind Spencer's ear. Her hand lingers a moment and she holds Spencer's gaze before she responds.
"Because you matter to me."
